Growing up in a family where horse showing, training and rodeo was a way of life, there was no
question what John Horn wanted to be when he grew up, a cowboy and a horse trainer. John
has spent his entire life on the back of a horse, from his first pony at the age of 7 to training
under the guidance of some of the best horse trainers in the world, including Jack Kyle, Jackie
Krshka and Craig Johnson. He has had the privilege of riding some of the best horses, from the
breeding programs of the Draggin A Ranch and the Malcomb Davis Ranch.

In 1996, Tim McQuay told John of a training position open in Italy, so he spent the next five
years in Europe doing what he loved best... training, showing, and teaching his art, the art of
communicating with the horse in a simple, common sense way to get him to willingly give his best.
John’s accomplishments include the Italian Quarter Horse Association Senior Reining Championship, as well as coaching the Italian Amateur
Reining Champion the same year. His talents are not limited to reining, as he demonstrated at the 2000 Buckskin World show where he was reserve
world champion in Trail and Senior Pleasure, as well as placing third in Western Riding and Reining.

John puts a solid foundation on each of the colts he starts with the ultimate goal being creating the ideal relationship between horse and man. He
also teaches others, primarily youth, non-pro, and amateur through lessons and seminars.
